Growing up on a wheat and sheep farm in North Central Victoria, Sally followed her obsession for art after high school and enrolled in a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design at LaTrobe University, Bendigo in 1991. After graduating, Sally began her design career working in creative agencies as well as running her own design business. But her love of painting and drawing continued to bubble away in the background.
Sally is now turning her focus back to traditional creative art and has since discovered a wider audience for her work. She is a visual artist who works predominantly with oil paint applied in thick layers to enhance the depth and colour interpretation. Her work represents a romantic play on the everyday with a nod to the sentimental treasures surrounding her. Sally experiments with mixed media, pen drawing and gouache to develop and grow her work and finds inspiration from the complexities of colour, the play of light and the manipulation of form.
Sally is happiest when she is surrounded by her 2 children and her art – her 3 greatest achievements.
