Sally grew up on a farm in north-west Victoria, surrounded by rough Mallee desert country that inspired her love of drawing from an early age.
She completed a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design at LaTrobe University, Bendigo in 1991. She began her design career working in creative agencies, freelancing to design studios and successfully running her own design business for over 20 years in Melbourne and Hobart. During this time, her love of painting and drawing never wavered.
Sally has since reignited her traditional creative skills and has discovered a wider audience for her work. She is a visual artist who works across many mediums, and looks to enhance the depth and colour interpretation of the subject. Her work represents a romantic play on the everyday with a nod to the sentimental treasures and locations surrounding her.
Sally works with mixed media, oil and gouache to develop and grow her work and finds inspiration from the complexities of colour, the play of light and the manipulation of form. Sally likes nothing more than to get out and explore country and engage with its boundless creative influence.
